Rust Job: Software Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Remote: Can be for the right talent, otherwise, in Boise/Nampa area with a hybrid schedule is ideal.

Purpose of role: create embedded code for consumer products

What you would use the most: Rust, Linux (Ubuntu)

House of Design LLC, a robotics system integrator in Nampa, Idaho. We build small robotic systems to full complete production lines for many different manufacturing industries.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Contribute to software design
• Write clean, reliable, and testable code
• Actively participate in code reviews
• Actively communicate to keep others informed
• Follow software engineering principles and processes
• Question everything

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience required
• Frontend development experience in React or Vue.js
• Proficient in at least one of NodeJS, Python, Rust, or C
• Comfortable working on AWS services and infrastructure
• Comfortable developing on Linux (Ubuntu)
• Comfortable using git
• Strong debugging skills

The main technologies we use:

• NodeJS and Rust
• Linux (Ubuntu, OpenEmbedded)
• Atlassian (Jira, Atlassian, Bitbucket)
• AWS
• Git

Bonus experience:

• Experience shipping and maintaining a product
• Contributed to Open Source software
• Written software for robots
• Familiar with docker

Compensation/Benefits:

Annual salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
